Moving up to the Northeast excited me for a number of reasons, the first being that I get to live in New York City! Aside from that, I was excited to get to able to travel to other states that I have never been to before. Most of my friends from undergraduate school moved up to the northeast as well, so visiting these cities mean that I also get to see my friends.
This weekend, my best friend and I traveled to see my boyfriend who goes to Princeton in New Jersey. We set out early in the morning and took the transit train. It was a pleasant ride there, it felt like I was in Europe again taking trains to any city or town I wanted. Once we arrived, we met him for lunch and then walked the entire Princeton campus. The weather was cloudy and chilly so, it was comfortable walking around and taking in all of the gorgeous greenery around campus. It is like a Hogwarts castle theme everywhere you go. The campus is so old and has maintained the majority of its building’s historical architecture. In addition to that, there are many new buildings built by famous architects within the past ten years. I was studying the mix of architectural styles and breathing in some fresh, fall air (it was nice since the air in the city has pollution!).
We stopped to get a crepe at Jammin Crepes, which is delicious and all of their ingredients are organic so I highly recommend going there for a good treat. This was only a day trip, so around evening time my friend and I decided to take the train back. It was a pleasant and relaxing day to be honest and I enjoyed getting to spend my day with people I love.
I plan on making more of these trips throughout the year. I want to see other architectural buildings that are built in the Northeast and visit my friends along the way!
Here are some photos I took of the campus. It was chilly so I wore pants and a blazer.
