This past weekend I was in Dallas to check out the Iris van Herpen exhibit Transforming Fashion. I was super excited to know that Dallas would be hosting her collection as I am a huge fan of her designs and theories and processes on fashion. As an architecture student, all different areas of design appeal to me. Fashion being the main one (um hello the reason I started this blog). I have been struggling on what to do with my degree once I graduate and I’ve always thought about doing fashion, but don’t really know if it is the right path for me. Going to this exhibition and seeing van Herpen’s works in person immediately reminded me why I love fashion so much and why I always wanted to pursue it. Her designs, materials, and theories behind each collection that is made is truly inspiring and beautiful. I was constantly in awe of every piece I looked at, the details and placements and productions were perfection! This was a dream come true to see this works up close. I would wear every single piece! I only put one photo of a dress on here because I want you guys to go out there and see the exhibition for yourself. It is a must!!! Especially if you live in Texas, make the trip!!
The rest of my day concluded of visiting nearby museums, such as the Perot and Nasher and checking out the Wyly Theater by REX and OMA.
