November 27 – December 2
After ending my study abroad adventure in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy. My best friend and I decided to spend one more week in Europe before heading back to the US. So we planned a five day trip to Amsterdam! Neither of us had been and being architecture students, we wanted to check out all of the art and architecture there, especially in Rotterdam.
We spent the first two days going to museums, touring around the city of Amsterdam, and taking pictures of all the adorable homes along the canals. It was bitter cold so we always made sure to stop in and out of markets and coffee shops. Because it wasn’t tulip season yet, all the markets were selling wooden tulips of all colors and sizes. I couldn’t help but buy a bundle to take home. Also, I made it my mission to eat all of the waffles/pancakes I could find – the one in the picture below was from The Pancake Bakery.
On the third day, we decided to take a train to Rotterdam to see some architectural buildings that we studied in school. It was surreal to actually see these buildings in real life.
The Netherlands is a cool place. Everyone is so nice, the food is good, and the architecture is amazing! Now all I need to do is see the fields of tulips in the spring and my Netherland experience will be complete.
Until next time,
