MUNICH

October 25 – 27

Guten tag München!

Continuing on our Fall break, we left Vienna and headed towards Munich for two days. As I’ve said before, two days is never enough time to explore and really soak in a city. Munich was probably the most modern, clean, and efficient city I have ever been to. As architecture students, we started our journey exploring the BMW Welt and Museum. The building is absolutely stunning and represents everything BMW stands for. Right across from the Museum is the Olympiazentrum Park and Munich Tower, where the 1972 summer Olympics were held. The park is gorgeous and although it was cloudy and cold, we had a great time relaxing around the park and enough some delicious pretzels and crepes. Fall was in full bloom, as you can see, and it was the most beautiful sight walking through all the colorful leaves on the ground. Later that day we toured some of old town and celebrated one of our friend’s 21st birthday.

We stayed in an Airbnb in a very nice neighborhood, our host was so sweet and even took us out for breakfast on our last day. Everyone in Munich was so nice and open, it was very pleasant to be around the people there. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Munich. The only thing we did not see was the Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian mountains. I hope to return one day to see that and the city of Berlin.

Until next time, onward to Switzerland!

xx
