September 20 – 22
I have been so busy with traveling, I keep forgetting to update the world on my recent travels. I have been everywhere the past months and a half and I am cherishing every second of it. My friends and I took a break this past week to rest, not only that, I was really sick and needed to recover. We have some major travel plans coming up for our Fall Break and I needed to be well enough to go. I am feeling better now, but still exhausted! Traveling takes so much energy, but it is worth it because I get to experience new cultures, food, and visit buildings I learned about in school.
I am finally uploading pictures of my recent trip to Rome. It was a three-day expenditure with my study center. They had all kinds of tours planned for us, which was nice, although I would prefer if they just let us travel by ourselves for most of it. We got an entire day to ourselves at the end of the trip which was wonderful! Wandering through the streets of Rome is so dreamy. I love walking on the ancient cobblestones, grabbing a gelato, and running into beautiful piece of architecture on every corner.
As you can see from the photos, we went all over Rome. I wish we had more time here, but I felt like we did a really good job of visiting all of the main sites. I had previously visited most of these places in 2013, but I enjoyed going to them again and reliving my own memories. The Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the MAXXI, and the Ara Pacis were new places to me, so they were probably my favorite things to see.
Enjoy the photos, there’s so much to say about Rome, but all I can say is, just visit for yourself and have your own experience.
PS – the best gelato in town is on the left side of the Trevi Fountain, if you are looking at it straight on. Seriously, it’s the best, I even posted pictures of the deliciousness.
