INVERTED TUX

Hello!

The past couple of days (and nights) I have been involved with setting up our department’s annual career fair. I volunteered to help the organization I am apart of called AIAS, American Institute of Architecture Students. I did this to be more involved with my organization and have an opportunity to get to know firms that attend. I am not looking for a job or internship at the moment, but the experience of handling a career fair will definitely aide in my future endeavors. Since it is a career fair, you have to dress professional, but still keep a side of ‘architectural style’ to your look. We are architects, we have explicit tastes! Business professional rules do not necessarily apply to us.

For today, I wore what I like to call an ‘inverted tux,’ meaning that the colors of a normal suit are flipped, so that I am wearing white blazer instead of black and a black top instead of white. I paired this with my two-toned pointy flats from NineWest and some really nice Joes Jeans. I am not really a fan of business pants. I do not think they are really flattering and I haven’t found a pair I am comfortable in, or a pair that actually fits correctly.

My friend and I decided to take some shots in front of this window that was projecting interesting reflections of trees. The lighting was also perfect, so we couldn’t resist.

I hope to keep in touch more often!

xx
