Hello beautiful people and Happy 2016!
A brand new year has arrived and I cannot wait to see what 2016 has in store for me. First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who gets on here and reads all my blog posts. I started this thing to express myself in my own words and even though most of my writings aren’t that put together, I am learning on my own time how to structure my blog. But I promise to continue to work on strengthening my posts! Second, I didn’t think that after five months of starting my blog, I would have over 1500 followers (including Instagram)!! I’ve learned that there’s a whole world of bloggers that support each other in so many ways and I hope to one day become apart of that. And finally, third, I have received so many opportunities from brands to sponsor them and it is exciting. I am thankful for these experiences and I hope to receive more in the future.
Okay, now its time for my Top 5 Memories of 2015 countdown. I know I am a few days late on posting this, but since I was on a trip for New Years I wasn’t able pull this together in time. So here we go!
5. Studio work
Yes, I have a blog, but I am also a full time college student. Not just any college student, but an architecture student. And if you happen to know of an architecture student, you would infer that I basically do not have a life that isn’t outside of architecture. I don’t sleep, I don’t eat very well, sometimes not at all, and I don’t really have time to do anything that isn’t studio related. But in my opinion, I have one of the coolest majors out there. I build structures that can help people live healthier lives, help patients recover faster, and push the limits of design. Architecture is probably one of the most difficult majors in college (trust me, I’ve had my meltdowns), but it is also one of the most passionate and I am very passionate about what I do. 2015 taught me to open my mind to new innovative ways of design and that working with people on one project is hard but in the end it pays off. I didn’t think I would be able to accomplish the level of work I complete this past fall in studio. I learned so much in one year just in design programs alone, it is crazy!
4. San Francisco, California
Speaking of Architecture, I am a member of the Texas A&M University chapter of American Institute of Architects Students, or AIAS and this year all of the chapters from around the US were invited to go to the annual Forum, which was held in San Francisco. I was picked to be one of the members to go! I couldn’t wait to be in San Fran and eat all of their amazing food, go site seeing, and have fun at Forum with all my architecture friends. This beautiful city did not disappoint! (Btw: the fireworks at New Years were the best I have ever seen).
3. Back to Greece
I don’t know if I have made it obvious yet, but my family is half Greek. So going back to the homeland is always an amazing, comforting experience. I was not born in Greece, but it feels like it when I am eating all my favorite Greek foods on the beach all day. Every time my family and I travel to Greece, we always try to visit different places, or islands. This year we took a trip to the south side of Crete to a very small town called Loutro. I’m not biased but, all I am going to say is that they had the best food, the clearest water, and the nicest people I have experienced in awhile. Hope to visit this beautiful town soon!
2. Paris, France
Ahh Parée… this magical city has been on my bucket list since I was five years old. Paris is one of those cities you will never forget. The food… the architecture… the arts… the views… the language.. no more words need to be said. Je t’aime, Parée. À bientôt!
1. Starting this blog
I never thought I would start a blog in my life. But one day, after my summer vacation I thought about all the beautiful pictures that were captured and my experiences and said to myself, “what am I going to do with all of this? How can I show this to people? How can I document my past experiences, and future ones?” So, I decided on blogging and now I wonder why didn’t I start this a long time ago?!
Thank you for following and stay tuned for 2016!!
